The Purple Halo Gala, our 5th Annual Gala fundraiser supporting the victims of domestic and sexual violence, will take place on Thursday, October 22nd, 2026, at the Historic Black Knight.
Join us for AWAY’s 5th Annual Purple Halo Gala: Illuminate the Way on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at the Historic Black Knight. This special evening will bring together friends, supporters, and community partners for a night of dinner, fellowship, celebration, and an exciting live auction.
This year’s celestial-inspired theme, Illuminate the Way, represents the hope, strength, and resilience that guide AWAY’s mission. Funds raised through the gala help support critical services for survivors of domestic and sexual violence throughout the communities we serve. About AWAY
The focus of AWAY, formerly the Women’s Resource Center is to protect victims of all backgrounds of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and human trafficking. AWAY is a private, West Virginia non-profit agency that provides temporary emergency shelter, counseling, crisis intervention, advocacy and other supportive services for victims, survivors, and witnesses of domestic violence and sexual violence. Services are provided free of charge, 24/7 at our shelter in Beckley, WV as well as in our outreach offices located in Raleigh (Beckley), Fayette (Fayetteville), Summers (Hinton), and Nicholas (Summersville) counties.
