Although the Purple Halo Gala held on October 23rd, 2025, has now concluded, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to all who joined us in supporting victims of domestic and sexual violence. Your participation and generosity have made a significant impact, shining a light on the important work we do at AWAY. Together, we celebrated resilience and hope, and while this year’s event may be over, our mission continues. The event was held at the Historic Black Knight Country Club on Thursday, October 23, 2025. Our theme for the event was Old Hollywood Glamour.

About AWAY
The focus of AWAY, formerly the Women’s Resource Center is to protect victims of all backgrounds of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and human trafficking. AWAY is a private, West Virginia non-profit agency that provides temporary emergency shelter, counseling, crisis intervention, advocacy and other supportive services for victims, survivors, and witnesses of domestic violence and sexual violence. Services are provided free of charge, 24/7 at our shelter in Beckley, WV as well as in our outreach offices located in Raleigh (Beckley), Fayette (Fayetteville), Summers (Hinton), and Nicholas (Summersville) counties.
